Dr Jenna Van Housen

Associate Principal Water Resource Scientist

BEM, PhD

Jenna helps councils, water users, and industry stakeholders understand how changing water demands, climate conditions and land-use pressures affect water availability and resource management decisions. With more than 16 years’ experience across research and consulting, she provides the analysis and insight needed to support sustainable water use and future planning.

Her expertise includes  irrigation demand assessment, land surface recharge, and soil water modelling, helping clients evaluate water availability, irrigation reliability and the potential impacts of climate change and land-use change. She is highly experienced in analysing and interpreting complex datasets and using modelling tools to understand how water systems respond under different scenarios and management approaches.

Combining  strong technical expertise with a practical understanding of policy, consenting, and resource management processes, Jenna’s approach focuses on translating complex modelling results into clear, defensible information that supports effective decision-making.
