Ross Hector

Principal Hydrogeologist

BSc MSc

Ross specialises in groundwater and water resource management, helping councils, water suppliers, industry, and developers respond to change and what that means for future planning and development.

Drawing on extensive experience across consulting, research, and industry, he provides practical, science-based advice on the opportunities, constraints and risks associated with water use and development. His work spans groundwater modelling, aquifer testing, source water protection, wellfield design, groundwater-surface water interactions and construction dewatering, giving him a broad perspective on the factors that influence water resource decisions.

Ross has led projects ranging from drinking water source protection and well interference assessments to major construction dewatering and environmental impact assessments. He is known for his ability to interpret complex hydrogeological data and translate it  into clear, defensible recommendations that help clients, regulators and stakeholders successfully balance the competing demands placed on groundwater resources.
