Neal is an environmental engineer with 46 years of experience in water and wastewater projects. He has undertaken a wide range of work for central government agencies, and regional and local authorities, as well as private industries and businesses.
Neal is the co-author of Dairy NZ’s Farm Dairy Effluent Design Code of Practice and Farm Dairy Effluent Design Standards. He is also a contributing author to the NZ Guidelines for Utilisation of Sewage Effluent on Land.
Projects that Neal has been involved with range from feasibility studies, design reports, environmental impact assessments and contract documentation, through to project implementation. He has worked on projects involving the land treatment of wastewater from industry and municipal sewage treatment plants; the design of irrigation systems for both large community irrigation schemes and individual farm developments; the evaluation of the performance and operation of spray and surface water irrigation systems; and water resource development studies, including catchment water resources and water harvesting developments.
